Please have anyone who is interested email Ellen Cunningham at ecunningham@chartpak.com with examples of their work in acrylics, along with a resume and contact information. My background is Catering and Teaching.  I have a BEd and MEd both in Education (Special Educational Needs).  I've been painting for 4 years with no lessons or any formal training.  I work with oils, watercolors and acrylics working mostly in abstract.  I also draw birds and animals using pencil and charcoal.  I also make shadow boxes and art filled glass coasters.  I have attended and shown my art at over 12 shows this year.  My work is in restaurants, properties and hair dressing salon within the local area.  I have sold over 200 paintings in 4 years.  My work is inspired by what I see and feel.  There is no style or artist that I follow.  In fact I do not really know any famous artist or their work.  I just paint what I want and what feel is right.

Another very good turnout at MAG's October 2009 meeting with plenty of food and socializing... and word on the street has it, there was a little dancing going on... I guess those caffeine drinks will do it every time!

We were very pleased to have guest artist Carmella Jarvi who provided MAG with an outstanding pastel demonstration.  The demonstration was on how to create the effects of water with understanding how the light and dark values using various hues are used in building the picture.  As well as, how to create the effect water movement. Please click on her name and visit her website and blog to view her gallery of works!

Next meeting is scheduled for November 10, 2009 at 6:30.  I do believe there may even be actual music this time... Plus during the Social Time there will be a group drawing collage made up of quick sketches - Now I know I've got your interest up! See you all there -
