Larry Elder, owner of Elder Art Gallery, will be judging the Matthews Alive Art Show which will show Labor Day Weekend, 9/3-5/11. His website is: http://elderart.com.
Artists can still register up to 2 works for this competition. Take-in is Wednesday, 8/31 from 3-5 PM at the Matthews Community Center. Top prize is $400, second place is $200 and third is $100. There are also Binders and Cheap Joe's gift certificate awards for achievement (4-$20) and honorable mentions (4-$30). A $50 gift certificate will go for best drawing and another $50 gift certificate will go for best photography. Ribbon awards will be given by the mayor and other town officials for their personal favorites. Entry fee is $30.
